05 Apr JSI Quality Forum 2018
JSI recently held the 2018 JSI Quality Forum in Shenzhen, China, at the JSI Shenzhen branch. This was the 2nd annual Quality Forum, hosted by Regional Compliance Director, Ron Lacson. The event was attended by the Quality Heads and Representatives of JSI Asia sites – those tasked with driving and managing the JSI quality system and addressing quality challenges.
The Quality Heads prepared presentations for their fellow attendees based around their QIT (Quality Improvement Team) Projects, summarizing and analyzing the operational strategies they executed, including the use of several Quality Tools that helped create methods that contribute to JSI’s success in quality. In addition to this collaboration and transfer of knowledge, the Quality Team received training in Security and Risk Assessment from JSI’s Regional Security Manager, Jafri Salim.
Each participant received a Medal of Recognition, and the Top 3 Quality performers received trophies during a ceremony at JSI Shenzhen’s Annual Dinner. The winners were:
- QIT Champion: JSI Philippines, represented by Bong Gatdula
- 1st Runner Up: JSI Penang, represented by Jofina Nayan
- 2nd Runner Up: a tie between JSI Hong Kong, represented by Joel Limsiaco, and JSI Taiwan, represented by Abe Wen
The teams were judged on teamwork, presentation material, use of relevant quality tools, positive impact (tangible and intangible), and presentation delivery. Janet Wong, Regional Operations Director, and Ron R. Lacson, Regional Compliance Director, acted as the judges.
Michael Wu, Branch Manager of JSI Shenzhen, and Jerome Tang, General Manager of JSI Hong Kong, handed the Trophy to the 2nd Runner Up winner; Janet Wong & Thomas Lai (Regional Operation Team) handed the trophy to the 1st Runner Up winner; and Nelson Lau, Vice President of JSI Asia, handed the trophy to the QIT Champion.
The JSI Quality Forum is the brainchild of Ron R. Lacson, with 2018 being the second annual Forum. The format of the QIT presentation materials and the leg work of handling most of the angles of the event including providing some necessary advice to the Quality Heads in delivering the projects were made possible by Bill Lagasca, Regional Quality Manager.
Michael Wu, Branch Manager of JSI Shenzhen acted as host and coordinator for the events at the JSI SZX office, ensuring the process went smoothly.
Yip Kum Yew, JSI Asia Vice President, Nelson Lau, JSI Asia Vice President, and Bobby Solis, JSI President, have shown immense support for the annual JSI Quality Forum. All the Quality Heads are thankful and appreciative.
